Digital Media Partner Raise £919 for GIST Cancer UK

This cause has been chosen for a very specific reason. Last May, a family member of one of our team was diagnosed with PAWS GIST, a type of rare cancer, at the age of 24. Unlike most other cancers, there is no response to typical treatments such as chemotherapy, and surgery is not currently an option. This is why ongoing research, clinical trials, and ongoing support are so crucial.

GIST Cancer UK is a small, yet effective charity that raises money for vital research into Gastro-Intestinal Stromal Tumours (GIST). It also enables patients to receive improved treatment and supports PAWS-GIST Clinic in Cambridge. However, because of GIST’s rarity, it gets far less funding and publicity compared to more prevalent types of cancer.

We hope that by completing this challenge and donating the funds raised, we can support GIST Cancer UK in continuing their vital work, leading the way in treatment breakthroughs and offering additional hope to patients.

To help us prepare, Josh our founder raised extra funds by also running the Sheffield 10k i as part of our training journey. Every donation takes us one step closer to breakthroughs in treatment and hope for patients affected by this rare cancer.

We did it!

Our incredible team successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in just under 11 hours, raising almost £1,000 for GIST Cancer UK. It was a tough but rewarding experience, filled with steep climbs, sore legs and plenty of teamwork along the way. We’re immensely proud of everyone who took part and grateful to all those who donated and supported us. Every contribution helps fund vital research and support for those affected by this rare cancer.
